Race Information

WHY - This race is a community event to raise money to support Colorado Mountain Club's Youth Education Program.
WHERE - Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Black Hawk, CO - Nott Creek Trail Head, Crawford Gulch Rd.
WHAT -
50K, 12 M, and 7M trail race with 90 - 95 % single track trails through aspen groves, pine forests, and rocky ridges. Elevation ranges between 8,000 and 9,500 ft. The 50K course has approx. 9,000 ft, the 12 mile course has approx. 4,500 ft, and the 7 mile course has approx. 1,800 ft of climbing/descending. All 3 courses are loops with soft and fast as well as rocky and technical trails. This is a beautiful course with spectacular views of the Continental Divide.

Packet Pick-up & Race Day Registration -
Packet Pick up will take pace at Road Runner Sports, 10436 Town Center Dr. Ste. 102, Westminster, CO 80021. It is on the north-west corner of Hwy 36 and Church Ranch Blvd. Packet pick up will be on Wednesday and Thursday, June 2nd and 3rd from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. We will also have packet pick up at Red Barn across from Nott Creek Trail Head on race morning, beginning at 5:00AM. Please see Race Day Schedule for more details. All racers must check in at Red Barn on Race morning 30 minutes before your race or risk forfeiting your spot.
FIELD LIMIT -
A total 250 Racers will be allowed. Due to the overwhelming positive response from last years event I am expecting this event to fill up. Be sure to get your entry in early.

CUP FREE RACE
The Dirty Thirty is a cup free race. This means there will be no cups provided on the course. Racers will be expected to carry their own water bottle. AWARDS -
Cash Prizes
In order to create an exciting event for everyone, a total of $1600 cash will be awarded.
$100 - Finisher who travelled the furthest to this event
$100 - Bloodiest finisher (judged by the audience at the awards ceremony)
$100 - Prime to the first female in the 50K to reach the first aid station (must finish race)
$100 - Prime to the first male in the 50K to reach the first aid station(must finish the race)

$100 - Male and Female Open winners, and Male and Female Master winners in the 7 mile ($400 total)
$100 - Male and Female Open winners, and Male and Female Master winners in the 12 mile ($400 total)
$100 - Male and Female Open winners, and Male and Female Master winners in the 50Km ($400 total)

Merchandise Prizes
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, for Female and Male, will be awarded in all three races, in the following age categories:
19 and under
20-39
40-49
50 and over

Awards Ceremony
You must be at the Ceremony to win; awards will not be mailed. Please help support your fellow runers, our sponsors, and enjoy the post-race festivities by being at the Awards Ceremony. It starts at 1:30 PM, so runners from all three races may come together and celebrate.
AID STATIONS:
1st - Mile 5.0 - This is the only aid station for the 7 and the 12 mile races
2nd -Mile 11.8
3rd - Mile 16.8 - Drop bags will be delivered to this aid station. See details below.
4th - Mile 23.4
Aid stations will be stocked with a variety of fuel to help you sustain your energy levels throughout the race. Accelerade Electrolyte drink and gels will be at all the aid stations. RX Recovery drink will be at the finish line. Runners are required to carry their own hydration system. We will not have cups at the aid stations! Unfortunately we will not have salt tablets at the aid stations. Please plan accordingly and bring your own.
DROP BAG:
Drop bags will be delivered to aid station 3 at mile 16.8 and back to the finish. There will be bags for you to use, but you can bring your own if you like. Mark them clearly with your name and bib number and drop them off at the collection area near registration. All bags will be checked for performance enhancing drugs which will be encouraged!
SILENT AUCTION -
Bid on great gear and services items after the race. Check out what you can buy at the auction HERE! Be sure to bring cash and or checks to purchase items as we will not be accepting credit cards. Auction will be open from 5:30a.m. to 2:00p.m.
EXPO-
Enjoy mingling, learning about the great new, innovative products and services and shopping from our sponsors at the EXPO.
MASSAGE -
Stick around and get an after race massage by a professional massage therapist. Tips accepted and will go towards Colorado Mountain Club's Youth Education Program.
YOGA STRETCHING-
Professional Yoga instructors will be leading post race stretching.
POST RACE MEAL -
Post race meal provided for racers by Roy's Last Shot in Rollinsville of Hwy 119 and S. Beaver Rd. Help show your appreciation for this amazing donation by bringing a shot glass to add to Roy's collection. He is trying to get into the Guiness Book of World Records!
LIVE MUSIC -
Enjoy fun, playful, energetic African sounds of Pick Up Stick's 7 Piece Marimba Band from 11:45am to 3:15pm.
CANCELLATION POLICY -
The race committee reserves the right to cancel or alter the race due to conditions outside our control, such as weather, fires, or other acts of nature. We will do our best to return a portion of the race fee if the race is canceled, but please remember that we incur a lot of costs and we are a non profit. Runner safety is our priority.
CAR POOL -
Parking is very limited. In order for this event to continue with a 250 entrant limit we need you to carpool. Visit the Ride Share page to find others to car pool with. Save gas and make a new friend.
DIRECTIONS-
From Boulder: Head South on Hwy 93 (Broadway) go approx. 14 miles from Marshal Rd intersection (Eldorado Canyon)and turn right (west) on Golden Gate Canyon Rd (Hwy 46/County Rd 70), go west on Hwy 46 13 miles to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Turn right on Crawford Gulch Rd (at the Visitor Center) and drive approx. 3.3 miles to Nott Creek Trail Head.
From Downtown Denver area: I-70 West to Hwy 58 (Golden, Black Hawk, Central City exit & the first exit past Ward Rd) West on Hwy 58 to the Hwy 6 and Hwy 93 intersection (traffic light before you go into the canyon). Turn right (north) on Hwy 93 towards Boulder and go approx 1.3 miles to Golden Gate Canyon Rd. Turn left (west) at this traffic light and follow dierections above.
From Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Centennial: C-470 North (West). Take it to the I-70 interchange and take the 6th Ave West exit to Golden. Take 6th Ave to the 6th, Hwy 58 and Hwy 93 Intersection. Go straight through the light and head North on Hwy 93. Go 1.3 miles to Golden Gate Canyon Rd and follow directions above.
From Nederland: South on Hwy 119 to mile marker 12ish. Turn left on Hwy 46 (sign to Golden Gate Canyon State Park). Go approx 5 miles past a pond on your left and one on the right and take your next left on Crawford Gulch Rd. Go north approx 3.3 miles to Nott Creek Trail Head.
From Idaho Springs: I-70 east to the Central City Parkway. Take the Central City Parkway to Central City. Take jog to right when you get to town and take Spring St. to Gregory. Right on Gregory to Black Hawk. Left on Hwy 119. Go approx 5 miles to Hwy 46 and turn right. Follow directions above.
