Make a Difference - Volunteer

Imagine a world where young girls and boys approached the world with an air of confidence, spoke up passionately for what they believed in, respected their bodies and what they had to offer the world. Imagine a world where young girls and boys spent their time exploring the endless possibilities before them rather than getting stuck in a place of not feeling good, smart or good looking enough. What if girls and boys developed valuable communication skills and the confidence to speak up allowing them to avoid possible traps resulting in dark depression.

This is the passion behind my volunteer efforts to raise money for “Stronger Boy and Girls”. The Colorado Mountain Club and it's Youth Education Program works with kids every day, teaching them valuable life skills such as problem solving and communication as well as an appreciation for the wilderness. The wilderness is a powerful medium exposing vulnerabilities and fears. Experiencing this feeling in a safe, controlled environment teaches us to overcome these fears and grow to new heights. It's a beautiful thing!

My vision is to create a top quality trail race that is a true community event. A local favorite with a national reputation which raises significant funds each year that go towards enhancing the courage, confidence and leadership skills of girls and boys through outdoor education and wilderness experiences. The Golden Gate Dirty Thirty will provide a venue whereby partner participants, volunteers, and racers develop a greater appreciation for the mountains and the opportunities they provide for personal growth.

In order for this to happen though, the community needs to get behind it and support it, both financially and with your individual time and talents. An event of this scale does not happen with one passionate person. We need a large team of passionate volunteers to make this event a big success. Please consider leading or joining a committee. It is with your time, talents and effort that we will make this a fun, rewarding community event. Please review the list of committees on the volunteer sign up page and sign up to help out where you can.
